October 7th Tragedy – About the Initiative

The October 7th Remembrance Initiative

Established in the aftermath of the October 7th, 2023 attacks, the Remembrance Initiative is dedicated to honoring the victims, supporting survivors and their families, and ensuring that the events of that day are remembered with accuracy and dignity.

Our Mission

The October 7th Remembrance Initiative exists to preserve the memory of those who lost their lives, to support those who survived, and to document the events with historical accuracy for future generations.

We believe in the power of remembrance as an act of honor, resilience, and healing. By creating spaces—both physical and digital—for commemoration, testimony, and education, we work to ensure that the stories of October 7th continue to be told with dignity and truth.

Through our memorial activities, survivor support programs, educational resources, and community engagement, we strive to transform tragedy into a foundation for understanding, solidarity, and hope.

Our Core Values

Dignity

We honor the dignity of every life lost and every story shared. Each individual affected by the events of October 7th deserves to be remembered with respect and humanity.

We are committed to historical accuracy and factual documentation. In a world of misinformation, we provide verified accounts and thorough research to ensure the truth is preserved.

Compassion

We approach our work with deep empathy for all those affected by the tragedy. Every program and resource we develop is guided by a compassionate understanding of trauma and grief.

Resilience

We recognize and honor the extraordinary resilience shown by survivors, families, and communities. Our work celebrates the human capacity to endure, rebuild, and grow even in the face of tremendous loss.
